"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Yes, although my Adriano sig does have a Splatter brush in it. But most is done via smudging the render layer about 5 times. The background colour was created by a 10px like, with 3 colours, and blurred a lot; it was a really nice effect.
